Brachan Consultancy was proud to support NLC Challenge Poverty Week by providing Time to Talk Money Workshops at Abronhill Primary School and Muirhouse Primary School. We received excellent feedback from teachers:

“I felt that the session was very worthwhile. The children across the senior classes were actively engaged in their own learning and were encouraged throughout the workshops to reflect on their decision making and make different choices as and when required. The children further enjoyed the layout of the session. It allowed them to be independent and reflect with each other on their income and expenditure. Not only were the children made aware of the importance of budgeting and saving, they were aware of the consequences of over-spending. The pupil’s mental maths was well utilised throughout the session also. I really liked how the children also got to do more than one round which encouraged them to be reflective which brought fantastic discussion between them. “

We also received excellent feedback from the pupils who participated in the workshops.

“I learned today how important budgeting is. I hope when I’m older, I won’t go over budget”

“The thing I liked most was seeing the different properties I could afford. I also liked when we finished round 2 and I could use problem solving skills to make it work out better. “

“I learned that if you want to save money, you have to pick things you need, not want.”
